Race Work

My BFA thesis show works came following the summer of 2014 and the large scale public demonstrations of American pain in the black community. These works were made as I studied African American history in depth for the first time and came to grips with my own fears and insecurities. Though the works started from a place of pain they by the end had become to me works to acknowledge history and affirm my blackness in a time of unrest and uncertainty.
